Pattern version and GONE virus

Yesterday the GONE virus came through our firewall.
( Good luck: My colleage didn't open the mail      )

I switched the intervall for the Virus-Pattern Update from 'Every night' to 'Every hour'.
But my pattern is still shown as from '04. December 2001'.
So there was no update now since yesterday night (Tuesday to Wednesday) !!

Kaspersky offered a pattern update yesterday in the afternoon.

So, how often is the Astaro server updating from Kaspersky   [:S]   ??

    Karsten, you are onto something that is becoming more and more important these days.

    Two or three days of a delay in distribution of central virus signature files is WAY too much when dealing with badtrans, goner and their likes.

    If Kapersky updated their signatures last night, that is at least 18 hours LATER than Norton updated theirs.
    If Astaro is going to add two more days - the usefullness of a central virus scanning system is rapidly loosing its edge.

    FIRST: ASL discover GONE since 4.12.2001 23:30 GMT !!! (Up2Date server sync time stamp)

    We are are watching continuously with a automatic process the FTP directory of kaspersky and syncing  within minutes the patterns to our Up2Date server! 

    There is no delay of 3 days....

    Markus, thanks for that clarification :-)

    I get an email whenever the signatures are updated, but could you possibly include some info on what signatures that are new, or possibly to a source that explains more about the update?

    Just a thought.

    Thank you for the information Markus,

    so i checked the protocols and found out, that we got the virus just a bit to early ...   [;)]  
    It arrived 04.12.2001 17:38 GMT and the automatic ASL process started at 05.12.2001 04:13 GMT.

    From now on, i will leave the intervall on 'every hour'      

    But i agree with Ørjan that it would be interesting to get more information in the notification mail (timestamp eg.), if it's not too much work.

    Just for your information (and maybe i'm doing/thinking wrong):

    My ASL (2.016) is set to UpDate the pattern every hour (since 05.12.2001).

    - Latest pattern update of my ASL:
      07.12.2001 10:35 CET
      (information from notification mail)
    - Manual Pattern update says:
      Installed Pattern: 06 December 2001
      No new Pattern available!
    - Kaspersky says:
      Daily update - December 8, 2001 00:19
      (daily.zip, 3 Kb)

    Something with timezones ??

    Just minutes after posting this thread i got a notificaten mail:
