Q - SMP and HW raid support

Hi all,

I see from the hw FAQ, that SMP support is 'not yet' - does anyone know when it might be added?

Also, if I were to use hardware raid, the only supported cards seem to be the old AMI Megaraid cards. AMI sold the Megaraid side to LSi, does anyone know when other controllers will be supported (Adaptec 2100s  [:)]e?

    I'm use DPT and adaptec raid controllers in all of my important boxes around here, and I have a DPT smartraid 3 or 4 I think in my ASL box.  It runs beautifully.  Try that.  Oh, adaptec owns and supports DPT now, so it's basically the same thing.

    Hi there, thanks - do you know if the Adaptec 2100s is compatible with the older DPT drivers?

    I had a look at the hardware faq, and there's support for all Adaptec scsi adapters, except raid.
    I'd also been hoping to use an integrated Promise controller on an Asus board, but it's not supported either. I could install to a mirror set, but not boot from it.

    You could use ICP Vortex SCSI RAID or 3ware ATA RAID controllers. They were tested and work well with ASL.
