Install with vid-card, run without?

OK, this may sound like an odd question, but bear with me...

The box I intend to use for running Astaro has 3 PCI slots, one shared with the AGP slot. So, I can have 2 NICs and a PCI or AGP vid card when installing Astaro.

After I've done the install, I'll be disconnecting the keyboard, mouse and video connections - but what will happen if I pull the vid card and slap in another NIC (so I can run a DMZ)? Will everything go horribly wrong?

I'll probably try this anyway, but any advance notice of caveats/gotchas would be appreciated...

    The number of ethernet cards is set during install. Reconfiguring this is something for the hackers forum. I am pretty sure that the system will not run without a video card... The problem is that the BIOS on the motherboard will not start without the video card.

    oh, i know some boards (newer one!) which run without a video card...
     
    @YuppieScum: try to insert your 3. NIC and edit /etc/modules.conf and reboot (i think thats the only place for config the NICs) - maybe you should save a backup before;-)

    It turns out I'd got it wrong anyway. The PCI and AGP slots are not shared - the box actually had a PCI video card in (slaps forehead)...

    Anyway, it's up and running with two cards for the time being, so I'm happy!
