Hi
I posted this plea for help on the Firewall & Masquerading group about a week ago, but sadly have had no replies as of yet.
I am posting it here instead as its more relevant and I am getting more desperate to cure this problem by the day.
To ASL developers: I would love to buy a licence for your product if you can help me get it to work for more than 20 mins!
Here is the original post:
-------------------------------------------------
After spending all day successfully migrating all my services over to ASL, I now find out that ASL locks both network interfaces every 20 mins or so for no reason.
The server itself doesn't crash, I can still log in at the console, but there is no activity at all on either nic.
This is SOO annoying as you can imagine. I have to reboot each time.
Besides this major problem, everything else works fine.
I have been looking some previous posts. Most relate to people plugging the internal and external nic into the same hub. In my case, each interface is on its own switch.
I have noticed that when one server behind the firewall sends out SMTP messages this causes it to freeze, however I have since taken that machine out of the network and I still have problems.
If this is some security feature (e.g. to prevent IP spoofing, please tell me how I can disable it now!).
-------------------------------------------------
I would like to add that ASL has now rebooted itself once after I tried to visit a web server that was DNATted behind the firewall. This has never happened before.
What is going on??
Please help!!
Owen
