Update from 1.800

Is there any way to upgrade from 1.800 to 2.000 ?

I have a 1.800 install CD and a 2.000 install CD.

Running up2date on the 1.800 installation fails because it expects 1.811.

The 2.000 installation CD fails with an exit to the bash prompt.

Help !?!

P.S. I can't burn a CD here at home.

When you get to the bashprompt -- run fdisk (fdisk /dev/hd???) and DELETE all the partitions. Write the new patition table back and the start the pc again.

I had the same problem and this fixed it

Hello,

please use this link to get the up2date packages
from 1.800 to 1.811.
http://docs.astaro.org/customers/update/up2date.tar (about 13 MB)

Scopy the up2date.tar to firewalls /tmp now login
into the firewall as user root and untar the file
to /var/recovery/incoming.
Type in "ainstall" , that's it :-)

Good morning,

I'm now at 1.890 with 1.917 and 2.000 available using Up2Ddate. ASL is looking for 1.900 and won't progress any further.

Suggestions ?

Hello again,

it seems that your up2date was interrupted.
Please edit /etc/version and /var/recovery/version
from 1.890 to 1.917 and try up2date again.
