How to install

Hi! I have downloaded the firewall it came with image extenction, i've burned the image and now i don't know how to install. I mean i see a install directory but it is in *.dat, how do you install that in linux, or do i have to decompress the file with *.dat.
Another question, is that in the directory install i have 2 files such as "astaro_insta.dat and oss_inst.dat" witch one i don install?

    Assuming you burned the image correctly, as a CD image, you have to boot your computer from it. You have to set the boot priority in your bios, and choose CD as first. After booting from the CD just follow the instructions on screen and you should be done in less than 10 minutes.

    Mabye im wrong, but this firewall works like an S.O? Like i install on a HD empty and it works like firewall, and i can't use the computer for nothing else?
    Is that it?
    Sorry about this newbie questions, but i have to be sure, and the howto in this site, doesn't say anything.

    Yes Astaro is a Linux OS.  You cannot do anything else with the computer.  It becomes a firewall.

    Thanks serge, now that explains the following error, i think "hdc: cdrom_decode_status: cdrom 0x30
    hdc: irq time out: status = 0xd0{busy}
    hdc: ATAPI reset complet"
    This error is happening all the time. what could be the cause of this? Beside that i was trying to install the firewall in a linux system  [:)]hz??
