I know this topic about not being able to maintain a connection to Webadmin has been hashed about for quite awhile now, but I still see no solution on the boards...
Here's the situation:
Using a PII 350, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB HD,Two Nics - one 3Com Soho (Hurricane) and one Dec 21142/43.
My Internal (3Com): 192.168.1.200
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL Router with an IP of 192.168.1.1
I have now re-installed 2.0 from the iso CD seven times using different combinations of the NIC's. Also running the Updates and Patterns successfully so I am now at ver. 2.012.
When I first install the ASL program, all is well. I can connect via the Webadmin browser (MSIE 5.5) for a limited period of time. This last time I got to the point of setting up the routing when the browser just sat and the hourglass spins. To try and thwart this, as it has happened on every install, I have set the timeout to 240 seconds. Also, when the browser goes away, I can no longer ping the ASL box. If I reboot the ASL, still no luck.
Has anyone had this problem and overcome it?
