I am running ASL 2 with a few minor issues. I have email backup daily enabled, and I do get a message indication it is backing up, but no configuration file is attached. Any ideas?
I am getting the same thing... The email message is about 6K though so there must be something there... I am not sure where... I am using Outlook XP to read email so that might be the problem...

Shouldn't be. I am using Office XP with Exchange 2K at the back end. Whilst I have modified the blocked file types - its only to add .exe to the allowed list.
There is something with Office XP... At least with POP. If you forward the email, and add an attachment you have access to the ABF file that is the Astaro Backup file.
I have removed as many of the restrictions that I could from Outlook... but it should not be doing this. Saying to forward the email is at least a work around. Maybe if there was some text inside the backup message that would fix things...
I think I figured it out. If your mail format is set to HTML, nothing is there. Change to Rich Text or Plain text, attachment is there. Very strange....
The work around is to open the message and FILE|SAVE ATTACHMENT
Funny thing... I cannot find any problem on MICROSOFT detailing this problem... Only the other way when other computers cannot open an Outlook attachment
I know this is an old post, but I have looked all over for a solution for this, and have found nothing that relates to this specifically. For whatever its worth, I did find out that the .ABF format is also used for a font.
I'm sure it has something to do with this. Even though there is a work around, I thought I would post this in hope that maybe there are others out there dealing with the same annoying issue, and hopefully my post will spark an idea for someone else.... [:S]
