Upgrade 1.8 -> 2.0

we work on it. Because there are a lot of changes we have to test nearly everything....

Would it be a bad idea not to wait for the upgrade but simply download the 2.0-iso, backup my 1.8 config, do a fresh 2.0 install and than restore the config?

(I know, this isn't Windows where a fresh install is always the best thing to do ...   [;)] )

That would cause at least 30 minute downtime. We are running ASP services in our network, so we can't afford that.

Few minute downtime caused by updating is acceptable.

restore of the config works.
Please stay patient for the 1.8->2.0 Up2Date: there are a lot of test cases (because the new booting concept with initrd, first partition boot, checking the filesystem during booting and so on - and after the Up2Date your old 1.8 have to look like a new installed 2.0 ....) - we work hard on it.
