yes, me too. I used Version 2.00 from the ASTARO download section before we bought the licence.

I too in one firewall don't succed to enable pattern auto update , in another I do succed.

I foud something in mdwlog, when I try to save the period.
Mdwlog of machine who never enable:

PatternIntervall setALL Intervall: Tag
/bin/cat: /etc/crontab.*: No such file or directory
PatternIntervall setALL Intervall: Stunde
/bin/cat: /etc/crontab.*: No such file or directory
PatternIntervall setALL Intervall: Tag
/bin/cat: /etc/crontab.*: No such file or directory
PatternIntervall setALL Intervall: Woche
/bin/cat: /etc/crontab.*: No such file or directory

MDWLOG of machine who allow enable auto up2date:

I seems also this machine sometimes fail.

I work with version 2.012.
If i try to enable the automatic pattern update, there is no chance for me to do it.
Everytime i push the buttom, the color of the point stays red.
My hardware is a compaq Deskpro with 866 MHz and 128 MB Ram.

I can't get it work either with astaro upgraded from 1.8->2.0

It works fine with astaro installed from 2.0 image.

/etc/wfe/conf/up2datedata

i don't know if this is your solution,
but in my case the solution was very simple:

First, it didn't work in my case, too.
After pressing the 'SAVE' button beneath the period parameter, i could also enable the automatic pattern update.

I think, there is no default value for the interval set, so enabling the automatic update must fail !!     

I would hope, that this was your problem, too    [:)]

I can confirm that installing a fresh version 2.o and then updating it work for the auto up2date.

Somebody should still patch this in next update.

I XP the same problem. I already changed the /etc/wfe/conf/up2datedata to

PatternIntervall: Woche

It did not help! I really would be pleased if the problem gets resolved by an update. Especially since I licenced the virus scanner.

New up2date didn't fix this either.

Please fix this fast with next patch.
