Multiple hard drives

Hi.

I've been using ASL for a few weeks now and it's running GREAT! My only problem is that it's tying up a 20GB disk of mine because it doesn't allow me to install on the 1.3GB and/or 1.2GB I was hoping to use for it.

Is there a way to split ASL onto 2 disks, so that I can free up the 20GB? Alternatively, I don't need to use Squid or the SMTP proxy, so I don't really need those partitions to be taking up space. Getting rid of those brings me far below 1.3GB, so I can fit it on just one of my disks.

Also, why do you partition out hda1 and not mount it? I noticed it is the same size as hda7, is it to be used for mirroring hda7? If so, why is my hda1 empty?

    Hello Mitsa,

    i think you will not be able to divide the installation on several harddisks.
    The normal installation process ALWAYS takes the FULL disk capacity.
    Today this should be no problem, if you have a look at the prices for a small HD.

    On the other side, your 1.3GB HD could be a little bit too small for use of ASL.

    The work you have by changing the distribution, could be very hard...
    ... and the next Up2Date could shoot down your changes
