After test driving ASL 2.0, we purchased a 2U unit from Penguin that works like a champ on all Linux distros. However, the ASL 2.0 install image simply locks up after probing scsi. According to other distros, I have an AIC7xxx backplane (scsi itself) with the megaraid controller. ASL gets to the scsi probe, resets the buses, and then states its a QLOGIC, and then has a scsi abort command.
We are locked after that. I wish the install image used LILO and thus allowed kernel options. I don't know of anyway to install w/o using the installation program. I wish I could process those .dat files and populate the system from a home made kernel on the CD. However, my guess is that post-install I'd hit the same problem with the installed kernel.
Anyway around this?
