Installation with Tulip card failed (1.950 beta)

I have a box with a DEC DE500-AA 21140A [10-100Mb/s] card and a 3COM 3C590 Etherlink III PCI NIC card and tried to install the 1.950 beta. The installation went fine but with the first reboot I got a kernel panic with some errors about tulip card....

and Eth0: no card or similar.

I'm also having an identical problem with the Linksys LNE100 version 2.0 PCI NICs.

We only had good intentions when updating the tulip driver.

Seems the older one works better with the more cheapo cards.

The newer one supports multiport cards (which we really need to support).

Both feel "responsible" for the a same subset of NICs, so there is a conflict. [:(]

We'll see what we can do about this ..

I got the same result when I did an up2date and got the latest tulip driver for ASL 2 Beta. The card I have is a Netgear FA310TX - the output from /proc/pci for this card is:-

  Bus  0, device  16, function  0:
    Ethernet controller: Lite-On Communications Inc LNE100TX (rev 32).
      IRQ 10.
      Master Capable.  Latency=32.
      I/O at 0xfc00 [0xfcff].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xffbebc00 [0xffbebcff]

I hope you can resolve this for the final release !
