No HD partitioning

I am trying to install Astaro in a Pentium 233 with a 2.4GB IDE hard disk which I use for testing purposes, but the setup program drops me out at the bash shell informing that it failed to partition the HD. There is no hardware problem, as the same system has been used flawlessly to install RedHat and OpenBSD. I tried to erase all partitions before installing, but it didn't work. Any clues?

Hi PConti,

there is a logfile in /tmp (/tmp/.logfile i think) - can you post this?

Thanks for the prompt reply, Markus. I solved the partitioning problem by disabling block mode in BIOS, but then the installation started to lock up after the first boot.

After trying - without success - several alternatives, I burned version 1.8 and installed it without any problem. Apparently, the quirk is only in the 1.95 beta version. My question now is, is there any way to upgrade the current installation to 1.95 without reinstalling the software?

if you read the following posting you can see the rules

So  you will not be able from 1.8xx to 1.951.
You either have to wait for the upcoming 2.0 release (which should be released tomorrow     ) and update directly,
or you try another install of the 1.95x version    [;)]
