All passwords don't work on install

Hi Folks:
I installed the software on a clean hard drive and set up 4 different passwords of 8 characters or less. The admin login wouldn't let me in with any of them. I then installed over again and used the same 4 letter password for each. Still the same problem! Any suggestion>dir

    UPDATE
    I can now login as root but not as admin? When I login I am at the command line. The docs say to start your "preferred browser". What would be my preferred browser and how would I start it?

    I think you should read carefully the installation manual, very easy to follow, located here web page or here web page if you are using version 1.8xx. Basically you can't login at the console with the admin account, but only with root. 
    Anyway you only need this from time to time since the administration is done using a web interface you can reach ANOTHER PC linked to the firewall through th address: https://ip_of_the_firewall.
