Problem with asl.1.811.iso.gz installation

Ok,

I am interested in what happens when you type in
gzip -tvl filename
and
gzip -V

Tranfer this to nt4 machine . Burn to CD.

Copied file on linux machine and used
md5sum to confirm file which was valid.

guzip complain that the file was not zip
format.

Used Winzip on the NT4 machine had the same
problem...

Have to abort installation.

Can someone help me !!!

What am I doing wrong ???

I want to know what is reccomended for burning the image to CD...

I use Nero, what settings should I use?

Gary - what is the file size of your downloaded file? Are you sure it's compressed?

I have previously downloaded from the gzip image link and found it was uncompressed.

just a quick note:

some browsers will automatically decompress .gz on download.

The file is 12M so it is uncompressed.

I am just in the process of sorting out
building a CD that is bootable for
linux
