Cheap PCI compatible NICS?

What are some cheap, reliable, and easy to get PCI nics that you can get at a local computer store or online that will work with Astaro?

Also: Is it possible to just bypass that test during install, and perhaps add some linux drivers from other distro's so the Astaro will detect them?

    Firstly, most PCI networks cards seem to work - especially the common ones. I mainly use REALTEK chipset cards and I have had no problems with them. Others have according to some of the other messages - but more because of reliability.

    There is no way to bypass the test on install. If you decide to add an ethernet card after install the instructions tell you to re-install. You might be able to change some of the middleware files, but that may not work... 

    The main problem is the middlewhere - as to if it is required to get the system up and running the answer is probably no... but cute graphs and the like will not be there

    I'll second Daryll on the RealTek Cards. If you want more quality, maybe buy some 3com NICs (not the absolute latest).  [:)]

    Adding more NICs without a reinstall is theoretically possible but requires a lot of "manual" tweaking. We recommed to backup the config and reinstall.
