D-Link DGE-530T NIC on UTM 9

Does anyone have UTM 9 running with a D-Link DGE-530T NIC?  The installation process incorrectly identified the card as the 528T, and it's not coming up.  The NIC works fine in other systems.  I have the "drivers" from the disk, but it requires the make utility to be installed, and that does not appear to be the case for the free home version of UTM.  At one point I found a hardware compatibility list, but I've lost that PDF.  If the 530 won't work, maybe I need to find a 528 (or equivalent) somewhere.

  • Found the hardware compatibility list, and the 530 is listed, but up to hardware version C2. I have D2, but surely that is not a big enough problem to cause the software to not recognize it correctly? Suggestions appreciated.
  • "but surely that is not a big enough problem to cause the software to not recognize it correctly" Could be if it requires different/newer driver files.

"it requires the make utility to be installed, and that does not appear to be the case for the free home version of UTM" The free version is exactly the same as that for a paid license. UTM is a stripped down version of linux and runs the absolute bare minimum of drivers/utilities/libraries to function. User modifications from the shell are not allowed for paid licensees and discouraged for home users. This is to reduce the vulnerability footprint, keep the install CD based, and reduce the support costs for paid licensees.

The only recourses would be to wait for the drivers to be updated (9.4 most likely) or get a little bit older card.
