Kernal panic - not syncing during Sophos UTM 9.6 installation

Question

Installing UTM 9.605, during the installing packages phase (step 4 of 6) I get the following error: 
 Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt 
 Installing onto a Qotom Q355G4 if that helps.

I was able to get past the error by pressing F3 at the first installation prompt to open the troubleshooting suggestions and entering the following kernel options: 
 boot: default nolapic noapic 
 After that the installation completed without error
