Installing Sophos UTM9 on a Cyberoam hardware ?

Hi,

I am using a Cyberoam CR25iNG for my home network. Since Sophos bought Cyberoam and the hardware are quite similar, i was wondering if i could install Sophos UTM9 on my CR25iNG.  The free UTM home license would bring me much more functionalities.

I don't want to buy/build another hardware since i already have a pretty good small form factor dedicated hardware. And this si the only hardware i own with multiple NIC

Also, i don't exactly know how to proceed as there a few to no documentation on the subject.

Did someone already success/thought of something similar ?

Thanks

  • I don't see why you couldn't install UTM9 on CR25iNG, other than resource consumption. What's the CPU and memory in this CR25iNG? The install process would be to download the software ISO (file name starts with ASG). Burn the ISO to disk. Hook up USB optical drive to the appliance with the disk inserted, then power on the appliance.
  • Thanks for your reply. The appliance did boot on the CD but i couldn't complete the install since the output of the installer is not forwarded to the serial terminal. I would have tinkered a bit more to overcome this issue if i didn't saw the following comment of William Warren which did work perfectly.
