VPN-Tunnel zwischen zwei RED50

Man kann keine REDs miteinander verbinden. Die konfigurierbaren Mehrfachverbindung sind für Mehrfachleitungen gedacht, sprich Failover oder Load Balancing.

Abgesehen davon, das die Links auch nur Glanzpapier sind; danke für die Antwort. Aber dann frag ich mich schon, was die RED für einen Sinn hat, wenn ich den Traffic grundsätzlich über den Hauptsitz führen muß und keinen VPN-Tunnel zwischen zwei RED-Standorten direkt aufbauen kann. Dann kann ich auch bei Cisco bleiben --> die können das; von wegen Ausrede [:D]

Das Konzept RED ist Dir nicht ganz verdeutlicht worden. Remote Ethernet Device - im Endeffekt wird über einen möglichst einfachen Konfigurationsweg ein Switchport an einem anderen Standort realisiert. Selbstredend ist die Verschlüsselung für den Transportweg. Insgesamt ist es eine Ressourcenfrage. Für jedes Schreibbüro eine eigene ASA? Mit der Sophos Endpoint Protektion lässt sich auch der Webfilter auf den Clients anwenden, wenn das RED Standard / getrennt konfiguriert ist.

Your two threads today demonstrate the reason that I no longer recommend a RED 50.  Instead, choose an SG 115 with a 3-year Network Protection subscription - the total cost is less than a RED 50 with a 2-year Warranty Extension.

danke für die Info; ich hatte mich auch dahingehend entschieden. Die Niederlassungen erhalten jetzt alle eine SG115.

In a PM, Viktor Braun asked, "Maybe you can tell me, why you now instead choose an SG115 with a 3-year network Protection? What are the reasons for this?"

Several reasons.  The first three are:

1. The SG 115 with Network Protection can make a RED tunnel, but it can also do many other things.
2. The throughput of the SG 115 is better than the RED 50.
3. The SG 115 costs less.  I would even chooes it at 20% more because of the added flexibility.
