ASGv7 + Mail Proxy @ Googlemail SMTP geht - POP3 NICHT

welche PF-rules hast Du eingestellt und was sagt PF-live-log?

um Missverständnisse auszuräumen - mit "PF" meinst du den PacketFilter nehme ich an?

bei dem habe ich von wegen "Mail" garnichts eingestellt - und ich kann dir auch sagen warum - nämlich passend dazu ein frischer Threat von mir:

Also kurz und knackig - wenn ich BAlfson richtig verstanden habe würd´s den PacketFilter ja garnicht jucken wie ich mit dem Mail-Proxy zwitschere... (?)

Both the POP3 and SMTP Proxies handle inbound mail, but the main difference is that the SMTP Proxy is, primarily, for protecting a mailserver, whereas the POP3 Proxy is for protecting individual clients behind the Astaro.

The POP3 Proxy exclusively handles emails an internal client fetches from his email domain on an external server - it can not protect an internal POP3 server.  The SMTP Proxy waits for other MTAs to send emails to one or more domains managed by the Proxy; it then inspects for spam/virus and transfers the emails to the appropriate mail server.

The SMTP Proxy also can handle outbound mail, but the POP3 proxy does not.  If you're using a regular gmail account, the POP3 proxy won't work with it because gmail uses POP3-SSL which the Astaro Proxy doesn't support.  As tov implied, if you look in the Packet Filter log, you will see blocked traffic.

If you have your own SMTP server, it seems unlikely that you want to configure the SMTP Proxy in transparent mode.
