PC-Hardware als Backup

Hallo,

 

ich habe eine SG 115 im Einsatz und mach mir Sorgen, dass die Hardware irgendwann ausfallen könnten. 

Ich hatte mir überlegt einfach einen älteren PC mit drei Netzwerkkarten auszustatten, dort die Softwareversion zu installieren und bei Ausfall das Backup einzuspielen.

 

Ist das generell möglich, oder spricht was dagegen?

Gibt es eine Liste an Netzwerkkarten die unterstützte werden?

    Sorry for replying in English.

    While it is possible to build a PC yourself, if this is for a business then the licensing is different for the appliances than for custom hardware.

    Another problem might be that the NIC-numbering will differ for different hardware so restoring a backup may lead to interfaces not being configured (correctly) and may need reconfiguration.

    Usually the Intel NIC's give the best experience, but there's more to find about which NIC's to choose here on this forum.

    (Sorry, my German-speaking brain isn't creating thoughts at the moment.  )

    As apijnappels implies, if you have a paid SG 115 license, then you will want to consider buying another, identical unit.

    Otherwise, you can consult the official UTM HCL and the last few pages of *Unofficial* Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).
