Posting in general discussion to see if anyone has done this. Before implementing my 310 UTM as the gateway firewall to my network I want to stimulate the changes in a testing environment.
To make the test network identical to the live network I am using VMWare 5.5 EXi server with a fully functional domain testlab.myadcompany.com with domain controller, dhcp/dns server, a couple of centos 7 pcs, a hp 1810 layer 2 switch, a internet connection and a virtual sophos utm. The UTM is doing the layer 3 routing but I want to implement a layer 3 switch to route traffic instead.
My live network has a hp 2920 procurve that will do the routing, how can I duplicate that without buying another hp 2920 switch?
