Can't get Dropbox app windows works withTransparent mode

Hi,

i found different discussion about this problem but no solutions...

I tried to force the proxy setting in Dropbox with  UTM @IP:8080 still doesn't work.

I enabled the SOCKS4 and 5. same result.

I tried to do a standard profile for dropbox. same result

The only way i found is to made an exception to dropbox.com for authentification...or disable proxy [:P]

any idea where the problem is going from ?

Thanks

  • I think this is a certificate pinning issue - the application knows the specific certificate to expect, and rejects all imitations.  The workaround is to create an exception to bypass https inspection.

However this is a great opportunity to use log search to collect clues, and try exception settings to explore symptoms.  Does exempting from authentication make a difference? Is I.P.S. blocking any traffic?  Do web filter logs show anything blocked or warned?  Do any of the authentication service logs indicate an authentication failure?

Note: A single 407 error in the web log indicates that UTM is asking for credentials.  This canbe normal. It does not imply an authentication failure.

  • Maybe this will help you:

    (Copied)

Allow Dropbox access to ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS).The Open button requires access to ports 17600 and 17603.The LAN Sync feature requires access to port 17500 (recommended)

  • Salut Cyril and welcome to the UTM Community!

First, I agree with Doug that this is a good opportunity to begin to familiarize yourself with the logs.
