Here is today's weather forecast...........

This is the BBC and here is today's weather forecast....

The MET office have issued a severe weather warning and advise everyone to stay in doors today.......

Due to low pressure created by the service monitor restarting repeatedly there will be a downpour of "up to date" patches coming from the Sophos servers. I have had at least 15 updates to my firewall this afternoon.

Is it just me or is this an attempt to solve the service problem? Touch wood, the patches have dried up and I haven't had any more service alerts.

Whats going on guys ????

Stu.....

  • Hi All.

    My apologies....

I appear to have had a blonde moment and switched on mail notification for pattern updates instead of firmware updates only.

I failed to notice the emails were pattern updates and assumed they were firmware updates.

Have now switched of my idiot mode and resolved the problem but I still keep getting alerts for the service monitor daemon. This is what tricked me into thinking they were firmware updates attempting to resolve the problem with the service but I still keep getting the alerts for the service, not as many as I was getting but I have had two this morning.

Anyway, problem is resolved... sort of [:$]
