Feeling Nostalgic?

Hey all hope your all well.

I have a query I hope someone may be able to help with.

On the old Astaro forums I was a beta tester for several releases of the firewall software for home on own hardware.

Does anyone know if they are archived anywhere?  After having to create the sophos username and password I have dropped from 2000+ posts to 3 posts. That's a shame but not the end of the world. I need to check some posts I made back when ver 9 was in beta.

If anyone could help that would be great.

    You could have a look in the Astaro.org sub group from the header ( made sure I migrated all of the threads and left nothing behind! (I hope!))

    Hello again.

    Hope your well m8. Sorry to bother you. I cant find the old PM's but you did sugest someone

    who could help with the licence issue I have.

     

    I have 2 of the older Astaro 525 boxes maxed out with ram and Gbic modules that I got for a good price on ebay. The problem I have is that

    I cannot use my licence key on the hardware units. There are a few suggestions in the forum. I have tried them all and nothing works. I have

    found I cant even buy a licence !

     

    You mentioned someone who may be able to help me out but the only PM I have is this old one.

    I mentioned  as a good starting point.  I'm sure Bob will be able to advise as he's got a tremendous about of knowledge on the product.  Conversely I have none.  :)

    Stuart, if you're trying to apply your "software" license, just rename /etc/asg like

    mv /etc/asg /etc/asg.bak

    After that, your non-appliance license will be accepted.

    Ruckus can merge your old posts into your new user profile if you contact him via PM.

    I have not tried that as yet. Does it need to be done on the local terminal or via ssh from another machine.... ? I dont know if there is any difference.

    Do you know if the front displays will still work. I am planning to put them both in as a cluster. Should be nice and nippy, I was going to simply install

    the software version and give up.

     

    I will give that a try when I know the best way to proceed.

     

    Thank Ruckus for me, I was planning to write this afternoon but a dead vdsl modem decided that was not going to happen.
