configuring Sophos utm110/120

its connected like in the description, without the hub or  switch, maybe the speedport router doesnt support the connection, the whome thing looks to me really complicated

Are you sure that you are using the right IP address of the UTM?

Please do an portscan from your laptop while you're connected to your UTM, to find out the IP address.

Check the IP configuration of your laptop, and if DHCP is enabled, disable DHCP and assign the following IP adresses:

IP adress: 192.168.0.2

Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.0.1

DNS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

I have got the same issue in Ubuntu 17.04, if you use ubuntu 17.04 please try Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, this fixed the issue for me.

so i have to turn off DHCP on my Telekom Router? I turned once DHCP on my Telekom Router off but then almost no website i could reach, then i called Telekom and they said i need an own ip address and that they give only to business people. Is this problem solved if i turn off DHCP and connect the Sophos Utm, do i have then own ip aso that it works?

you have to turn off DHCP in your Ubuntu PC, please use this guide : http://www.debianadmin.com/ubuntu-networking-for-basic-and-advanced-users.html

( This guide is old, and the configuration is now in the "preferences" application, and it looks a bit different, but the guide is still useful to understand how to configure)

P.S. wich Telekom router are you using? Please show us an network map with your UTM, the Router and your Linux PC!

P.P.S. please try use the addresses from the post above! Thay should work for the standard UTM config!
