AD sync

Hi,

How do we go about disabling the AD sync process? In the fallback log files I can see that the AD-SYNC starts at random times. However, in Definitions & Users | Authentication Services | Advanced, the 'Enable AD group membership background sync' is not enabled. On the same screen we have it set to pre-fetch the users once a day at 2am and 'Enable backend sync on logon' is disabled. All users have the setting 'Backend sync' disabled. I only ask as I think when the AD SYNC is starting it may be causing a dropout on the box.

Is there anywhere else I should be looking to disable the AD Sync? Once a day is fine.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

Same type of issue here.  Only I have found if I force a sync of AD it kills the HA pair for up to a few hours, almost totally unresponsive. This is probably because our AD is huge.

But like you I have it all disabled, but if I add a new group etc, I usually find it will auto update that group membership at random times.   Im almost sure it must do some form of random check on the groups, as I see similar in the logs but the random checks dont cause me any issues.
