DHCP Option 2 will not accept string or hexadecimal value

I've tried everything I can, has anyone else had any success with using this option? I've tried the hex value and string value, none work.

  • What do you mean by "none work," Bryan?

  • I enter in a value that should be accepted like a hexadecimal value and it rejects it as invalid. I try -6 and it rejects it. It will take just 6 though. So I'm wondering what the heck it's expecting because obviously its not hexadecimal. Thanks for the help.

  • Hi,

whats the value for timeoffset you wish to set and which hexadecimal value did you try (as entered) ?

(do note there are devices/systems that ignore this option as its deprecated and replaced with option 100 and 101)

(by the way is has to be hexadecimal format like (for -6 hours it should be) ff:ff:ab:a0
