Country blocking screen... is it necessary to list the Palestinian territory as (Occupied)?

Seems politically motivated and not necessary. Honestly it is offensive.

  • I hadn't seen that, Scott.  It looks like the ISO changed its designation to "Palestine" in 2013.  Sophos/Astaro probably bought the MaxMind database before it was updated.  Do you have a paid license that would allow you to open a ticket with Support on this so that they can get this to the developers?

  • It is not the fact that it is called Palestinian Territory.. it's the (Occupied) part that is unnecessary. It is not listed in the list as 'Palestine' as you show  in the database.

I have no problem differentiating traffic coming from there as opposed to Israel... I would actually rather know that...

And yes, I have several valid licenses... I am a reseller.

  • So, please do get a ticket in.  My point was that "Palestinian Territory (Occupied)" was the official name used by the UN until sometime in 2012 when it changed to calling that entity "Palestine." The ISO made its change in 2013.  Apparently, the MaxMind database was integrated into the UTM before it was updated by MaxMind.
