Why does the UTM have a strange delay after powering up before responding to PING and allowing network access?

This is possibly a very silly question, but it's been on my mind for a while now.

After a reboot, our UTM (SG 115) will, seemingly, boot up very quickly (at least the CLI will be quickly available). I guess this is due to the wonders of the SSD drive it's using.

However, once the CLI is available, the device will not respond to pings nor allow network connectivity. This is strange because, if I login, IFCONFIG will show the links up and running. The delay before services are available is, in fact, rather noticable.

What is taking the UTM so long? If additional services need to be started before the device actually starts handling network traffic, is there any way to track the progress of this operation?

Or am I just overthinking it and need to be more patient? :)
