How to enable HTTPS for Sophos webadmin?

Hi all,

I've recently got into Home Server based technologies, and have for the first time installed a dedicated firewall. And Sophos is the first. I've got a lot of initial help from you guys here, and i am grateful for that. Everything's been working fine. And i have been tinkering around learning new stuff.

Today I'd like to ask you about enabling HTTPS connection for my sophos webadmin page.

I am using Chrome, and currently if i navigate to the Sophos url.. 192.168.1.100:4444, Chrome shows that the connection is "Not Secure" and the message on the page says

"Your connection is not private"

Reading around the forum, i realize this is related to SSL certificates?

So how do i get them and how do i add them? Do i need to add it to the chrome browser? or get a SSL cert and upload it to sophos in the webadmin panel?

Please guide on the steps.. or a URL, I just do not know the right terms hence do not know what to search for.

  • I believe PFSense has a certificate wizard to create certificates and then import them into the web browser. How do we do this in Sophos UTM 9? Is it even possible to generate certificates for all the various applications that use web browser?

A tutorial or a youtube video will help greatly. :)
