VPN Access via Cisco IPSec (on my Mac)...

First off, let me apologize for this question.  I am somewhat new to the Sophos firewall system.

I am attempting to connect my Mac (OS 10.12.4) to my new Sophos XG105 firewall.

I am using the built in Mac VPN connection software.

I connect and acquire a valid IP address.  However, I am not able to ping that address or any other address on the network.

I have set myself up as an Administrator on the firewall.  I am also using those credentials to authenticate.  There is also a pre-shared secret.

I have zero idea on how to resolve the issue.  This is more of a learn as I go scenario.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Keith,

You require two firewall rule for communication: VPN to LAN and LAN to VPN

    1. VPN to LAN

    2. LAN to VPN

Finally, go to Administration | Device Access | VPN | Ping (select it and save)

    Thanks

P.S.- As it is a question related to the XG firewalls please move it into the XG forum where it can get proper attention. You will need to join the XG forum in order to move this thread.
