How to integrate into an automated IaC environment?

As I am configuring and getting to know UTM 9 in AWS, I am wondering what resources there are to help me learn how to integrate UTM9 in an environment that is heavily scripted for infrastructure as code automation. For instance, if I bring up a new AWS instance via autoscaling, how do I integrate that instance with UTM 9 automatically? And how can this be done based on what role the server plays?  In more general terms, how can UTM9 manual configuration NOT cause a bottleneck in an automated environment?
