Hi
We're using UTM ASG Software appliance at v9.408-4 and we use FTP Proxy in Web Protection.
One of my users was failing to download a 16MB zip file and I spotted the following in the FTP log.
2017:02:23-08:44:16 frox[56789]: Timeout while reading response from cssd for file '/var/storage/chroot-ftp//tmp/VS_56789' 2017:02:23-08:44:16 frox[56789]: Got no response from cssd 2017:02:23-08:44:30 frox[56438]: Client closed connection
FTP Proxy AV was set to single scan with a max scanning size of 50 MB and is using the Avira AV Engine.
I found an article https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/utm-9-1-public-beta/65038/9-075-notabug-ftp-warning-fail?pi2132219849=236 on this forum from 2013 that said that there was a default and unchangeable 40 second AV scan timeout so to test this I changed the max scan size to 10 MB. My user retested and the file downloaded with no problems.
So my question is will this default AV timeout ever changed? A 10 MB max scanning file size makes me feel a bit uncomfortable :)
thanks
Mark
