more streaming questions

I have a utm home edition running 9.4 and am having issues with several types of streaming connections. I am able to stream netflix, and cbs.com just fine but multiple other websites do not work fox sports, any of the vodlocker,putlocker type sites also if I try to run internet speed tests the results always show much lower speed than i have. This did not start occurring until about 2 months ago, I didn't realize what was happening when it first started, so I am not sure which update made this happen, these sites used to work ok. I have tried most of the suggestions listed in these threads: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/119464, https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/general-discussion/22065/rulz

nothing seems to fix it, so I am at my wits end ,looking for help, thanks

Will the mtu bug affect a static ip wan connection? I have a static connection

It's not whether you have a fixed IP. I think Billybob hit the nail on the head. To quote Sherlock Holmes, "... when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." [;)]

I looked at the mtu setting, in the gui it is set to 1500, I can run ping command with a 1472 size packet and it works fine. I am not sure what else to check as far as mtu size

Move the interface definition to another eth on the UTM or replace the NIC with an identical one. If you have a Realtek, Marvel or 3Com NIC, you should replace the NIC with an Intel (NOT an Intel 82574 based NIC due to bugs from Intel that aren't fixed - the 210 series is good). Note that if you don't already have an Intel NIC, you will need to reload from ISO in order to install the driver for the new NIC

I guess I am at this point as both of my nics are realtek

This just doesn't "feel" like a NIC issue.

Fellow member William Warren found IPv6 timed out, re-trying to connect using IPv4 in the Web Filtering log when he was having slow responses. If you have such lines and you have IPv6 active anywhere, what happens if you disable that?

I looked through the logs and didn't find any references to ipv6. I also had only one computer hooked up and have ipv6 disabled on it and it acts the same. I guess my plan is to go back to my old netgear router until such time as I can rebuild this on some different hardware and try again, Thanks to all who helped me out
