Active Directory Authentication in 9.4008-4

It seems that since updating the UTM to 9.4008-4, Active Directory authentication is broken.  When I add an AD authentication server, I am able to do so and successfully test it.  However, If I go to edit that server, testing it fails with a bad password.  It seems that the Sophos does not save the password entered.  This is causing users to be unable to authenticate with the firewall for accessing the user portal and SSL VPN.  Even if I create a new authentication server, this does not resolve the issue.  The only resolution I can find is to roll back the firmware to a previous version.

Does anybody else have experience with this?

  • Hi, Nick, and welcome to the UTM Community!

With every UP2Date, there are always a few cases of a glitch in the process of updating the configuration objects and databases.  Sometimes, it suffices to restore the configuration made just prior to applying the last Up2Date(s).  Does that work for you?

If not, then try a reboot.

In any case, get a case started with Sophos Support.

    Cheers - Bob
