BUG? After Upgrading my Sohpos UTM 9 to "9.408-4" one ethernet interface is missing

Hello Guys,

I've upgraded on saturday (10th of December) my Sophos UTM 9 to Version "9.408-4"

Checking the log entries, I can see that from my 5 Ethernet-Interfaces 1 revealed.

My Interfaces are:

eth0 Internal Interface

eth1 Outside Interface

eth2 DMZ-1 Interface

eth3 DMZ-2 Interface

eth4 DMZ-3 Interface

eth2 "revealed" after upgrade. Even "ifconfig" doesn't show up the interface anymore.

I should mention that I'm currently running the SOPHOS UTM on a VMWare 6.0 Server.

Everything worked fin until that upgrade. The Interface is up and running on the VMWare Server - it is starting at bootup just like the other ones.

Could you give any advise how to further troubleshoot? Do you need any Log-files or other informations in order to support?

Thanks to everyone supporting here in advance!

Kind Regards

-Helmut

  • Hallo Helmut, and welcome to the UTM Community!

Sometimes, an Up2Date will scramble the configuration when the Up2Date is applied.  Try a restore of the backup made just prior to the Up2Date.  If you applied several at once, use the backup made before the first one in the series.

If that doesn't work, try a reboot.

If it's still not working, contact Sophos Support if you can.  If this is a home-use license, copy off several backups, reload from ISO and restore.

    Did you get lucky?

    Cheers - Bob
