Webdamin crashing regularly. Cured by httpd service restart

Sophis UTM running on hyper V

Firmware version: 9.407-3

Since the weekend the webadmin service keeps crashing. Well we assume it has crashed as doing /etc/init.d/httpd restart in the console fixes it. This also takes down our wireless hotspots so our users can't access that either. Everything else seems to be functioning normally. This seems to be occuring around every 75 mins or so. I haven't done the latest update yet but I checked the audit to see if anyone had made any changes - nothing. Seems to have just randomly started. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this - could be an excessive load? I have a ticket but Sophos have not called back yet.

Hi,

Provide me the case# with support I will monitor it personally. Meanwhile, check the kernel.log, webadmin.log and httpd.log to catch the issue.

Went down again overnight but has been up today so far - I'll check those logs..

This is still crashing every day and we have had little support from on it and emails go unanswered...

Thanks but that was the first thing we did. Rebooting fixes the issue but so does starting the httpd service - then it fails again. Updating to 9.408-4 made no difference.

Seems to happen at roughly the same time each day - Sophos are now on remote..

Hi,

I think there was a glitch in the installation process. Can you reimage the Firmware and let us know if the issue persists?

I dont think so. This just started randomly one day - seems to go down at around 9am every day and updating didn't fix anything.

The engineer says "there are some segmentation fault in the service " and it is being escalated.
