Backup restore and users

Hi, I would like to set up a new instance of UTM 9.4 from backup (backup from same version, reason is lost admin/superadmin password..)

When setting new instance, in the "basic system setup window" I've set admin pwd, but after restoring from .abf backup file I'm not able to login with password I've just set.

I suppose that backup includes passwords as well?

If so, is it possible to exclude password from .abf file before restoring?

Thanks, David

  • You can make a backup without site-specific data, but you cannot partially restore a full backup.

If you can access the command line as root, you can change the password for the admin user with:

    cc passwd [mynewpassword]

    Did that work for you?

    Cheers - Bob
