Allow Dialup VPN

Hi

We have a Sophos SG210 running UTM 9.4, fairly new to it but liking it very much!  I've managed to unblock lots of outbound traffic using the firewall/live logs but have come across something I am unsure how to fix.

Sometimes our employees need to access a client system which they do via a SonicWALL VPN client, they connect from a Server 2008R2 RDS instance.  Since implementing the UTM it has been blocked.  Normally I open up the firewall Live Log, filter by IP address (of the RDS server in this instance) and wait to see what traffic is being dropped.  However when I dial the VPN nothing happens in the Live Log.

Is there anywhere else in the UTM that could be blocking such traffic?  I have changed the gateway of the RDS server back to our old firewall and the VPN client works fine so I am confident the UTM is blocking the traffic rather than something else on our network or a problem with the client's system.

Many thanks

Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for choosing Sophos. If you can do so much with just the live firewall logs on UTM then you must definitely check a brilliant guide by Bob here. I am sure you will resolve a lot of issues referring this document.

Please check #1 in Bob's Rulz for your question.

    Thanks
