2 issues with UTM 9.4 (kind of traffic shaping / web filtering issue)

Hi all.

I've been using sophos UTM on a dual Gig port computer with 4Gb of RAM, SSD and Core i3 CPU for months now without issues.

My Internet access if fiber (from french ISP Orange) 300Mb/s download and 100Mb/s upload.

I've upgraded to version 9.405-5 few days ago and since then here are the 2 issues I'm facing:

- my download and upload speeds are limited at around 90Mb/s (if I bypass the UTM I get back normal transfer speeds)

- web browsing with WebFiltering active is almost impossible as web sites do not respond in a random way

For the first issue, I have trid to deactivate a lot of options but I'm stuck at 90Mb/s

For the second issue I've deactivated the WebFiltering option but this is not an aceptable solution.

Any idea ?

  • Hi Bruce,

Is you issue related with the MTU part mentioned here ?

    Thanks

  • I want to add some informations:

the problem does not seem to be related to version 9.4.

I've reinstalled latest version 9.3, and problem is the same. Whatever the mode is (bridge mode, NAT mode), with all options deactivated (no web filtering, no IDP, etc.), same bandwidth limitation.

The firewall is connected to my ISP router who can only work in router/NAT mode (no bridge mode available). So as I'm connected on the LAN port of this router, MTU should be standard (1500).

When I connect my computer directly to this router, bandwidth is OK. And I'm very sure that this computer with Sophos UTM was able to give me full bandwidth.
