versions: 9.104 how to reset all password ?

Maybe some glitch with the firmware version. Did you try upgrading to a higher version and resetting the password? 

Please have a backup from the present firmware.

I use 9.405 iso updated my UTM120 .

Did you find the same behavior with v9.405? Or were you able to reset all the password through the referred KBA in this version.

I have the same problem on the current FW. I change passwords for loginuser and root and am unable to login with them.

I've tried this a half dozen times without success.

First time we've seen you post - welcome to the UTM Community!

Version?  What are you doing to change the passwords?  Please show a picture of the dialog where the login fails and tell us whther it's via SSH or on the Console.

Following the KB article to change the password, but all fail ....

Guys, you must be misunderstanding something.  Without seeing a picture of the login failure, we can't even begin to guess or ask clarifying questions.

When rebooting to console, by editing GRUB (init=/bin/bash)
and giving the commands passwd loginuser, and passwd root
you can change both password, and they work as long you stay in that console (tested with login:) as loginuser and su -)
upon reboot it seems, that they don 't get saved, because neither of them seems to work anymore

For the admin user, did you do the following command?

cc passwd mynewpassword

in console (with, on startup editing  init=/bin/bash)
login:

loginuser
password OK

su - root
password OK

cc gives me then

Connection or login failed to 127.0.0.1:4472 Failed

It looks like you're stuck reloading from ISO.  I would definitely do a RAM and hard drive check first though.  Do you have any backups off the box for the existing configuration?

just preformed a new install yesterday :)

OK.  I was just checking to see if you needed the trick that let's you get a backup off the UTM at the command line, but it sounds like you didn't have anything to save.  Let us know if you have better luck with different hardware.
