Greetings.
I would like to get reverse name lookup and host name lookup working properly on the "Bandwidth Usage" report. I am seeing "nxdomain" and "resolving", with no name lookup ever occurring. Path to section I'm asking about: Logging & Reporting \ Network Usage \ Bandwidth Usage (tab).
I can go to the "tools" section and do a lookup for internal IP's like A.B.C.48, and get answers like "Camera_01.mydomain.local". That works. I can also cut/past IP's from the bandwidth usage report area, go to 'tools \ dns lookup' - and guess what? Yep, it works, I get the proper name of the system on the network.
I can ssh into the system, and w/ a 'for variable 1 to 254 loop' at the shell prompt, iterate over A.B.C.variable, and get a reverse name lookup for all of the devices on the network that have an IP address in DNS.
I have an internal AD domain controller, and get fast resolution on it, get fast resolution on PC's on the network using this DNS server, and do have DHCP integration w/ DNS and AD = meaning I can see properly named systems in the active leases area on the DC. I have also tried to "flush" the resolver cache a few times, doesn't help.
I have followed the advice posted here -> https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/53/p/32566/109152#109152
and think I have everything setup right, but do not get name resolution in the reporting area for "top clients" for systems OTHER THAN the domain controller itself. (which is really odd).
