Static Routing of a remote router

My backend VLAN1 subnet is 10.0.0.0/24, my SG330 is 10.0.0.248.

I have a L3 Cisco switch 10.0.0.9 on the same VLAN1

On that Cisco Switch I have VLAN 31 - 10.0.31.0/24

The SG330 has a static route to VLAN31 thru 10.0.0.9 and can ping any device in VLAN31

In VLAN31 I have a gateway 10.0.31.30 that bridge to 10.121.0.0/16

The gateway 10.0.31.30 has the address 10.121.1.1 on its 10.121.0.0/16 subnet

When I make a static route on my SG330 for 10.121.0.0/16 by 10.0.31.30, it doesn't add it in the routing table of the SG330 and can't ping 10.121.1.1. But if I add the static route of the 10.121.0.0/16 by 10.0.31.30 in the Cisco L3 Switch and then add 10.121.0.0/16 by 10.0.0.9 (L3 Switch) in the SG330, it adds it to the routing table and all works....

Why can't I just make it it go straight to 10.121.0.0/16 on the SG330 ??

  • Eric, VLAN1 is reserved in the UTM for Wireless Protection.  Try changing the tag to a different number.  Any better luck with routing?

  • Unfortunately I can’t, to do that I would have to bring down some mills to change my Vlan1 to something else.

I'll probably 1to1 nat those vendor network to one of my VLANs.  I've done it here before and it works fine.
