How To Unblock Websites and all links off of the website.

I have a doctors office that runs a UTM 220. They are really strict about internet usage and only allow specific websites to be accessed. They have web filtering on so that it blocks everything unless you allow the website.

My question is how can I unblock external links on a website.

So lets say I unblock doctor.com. The client goes to doctor.com and clicks on a link that redirects to another domain, dentist.com. Well now dentist.com has to be unblocked.

The given scenario is just a simplified version of the problem. Say a website has 100 redirect links on it. Is my only option to allow all those domains? Or is there a way, to allow a "parent" website.

Any advice appreciated.

  • Hi,

If the redirection is on the subdomain associated with the actual domain of the website then you can simply add the website in the "Allow These Website" section found in Web Protection > Web Filter Profile >  Filter Actions > Website.

If the redirection is on a completely different URL/ Website then you have to manually configure all the websites to allow through the web protection policy.

    Thanks
