Sophos utm 9 web filtering

Hi,

I am struggling to create a group of users who can have full internet access using Sophos UTM 9. The firewall model i'm using SG330, currently if a user need full internet access i do the following: Log on to the Webadmin then go to Web Protection>Filter Options>Under the Exception tab there is an exception list created as follows: Name of the exception, skip these checks :Antivirus checks, content filter and https scanning, and then under For all Request it says "coming from this networks", under Hosts/Networks there is a list of IP's of users added for access. So whenever a new user request full internet access  say to Social Media and Youtube specifically i just add their IP's under hosts / networks and then they will be able to access those sites as they are not enabled by default.

I have just started using the Sophos UTM and struggling to find my way around, and i do not think i'm doing the above correctly because now i have a long list of users under the exceptions. How can i create a group so that i can add those users in a group instead of having a long list for access to social media and youtube as stated above?

  • How are you authenticating users?

Under the same menu, you have the option "coming from these users/gorups"

If you either have local or SSO accounts, you should be able to add them here.
