UTM DHCP IP address conflict resolution

Is it possible on the UTM 9 to configure IP address conflict resolution when configuring DHCP options?

  • Hi, Tyson, and welcome to the UTM Community!

I'm not sure what you're asking, but, unlike the DHCP service in a Windows server, the UTM doesn't have reservations that can be put anywhere in the address pool.  With the UTM, you must separate your local subnet to have separate ranges for static and dynamically-assigned IPs.  You can define a "Host with Static Mapping" object in WebAdmin that will cause DHCP to assign the same IP every time to a particular MAC address.  Again, that IP must not be in DHCP's dynamically-assignable IP range.

    Does that answer your question?

    Cheers - Bob

  • Hi,

I guess that you were asking for the conflict detection feature, like it is in Windows DHCP or Sophos XG firewall (screenshot). Unfortunately it is not possible to configure it in UTM9.

  • Thank-you for the responses. That answers my question.
