Am i right in thinking there is no way to share the Email settings between UTM's?

I currently have 2 sites both behind Sophos UTM, but we use an Exchange DAG accross the 2 sites and are using the UTM's email features at both sites but the problem this is causing us is that when we need to make changes we have to do it manually at each site, this also goes for our users portal pages they now have 2 mail quarantines and our users dont seem to be able to realise that if they need to white or black list emails they must do it on both UTM's.

Ive been using UTM for a while now and ive not come accross a way to sync settings between UTM's.  Am i right in thinking there isnt a way for me to sync settings between the 2 UTM's (mainly the email and user settings)?

Thanks

JK

  • You're right, John, that you can't effectively coordinate two UTMs' mail settings. I have a different approach which seems to work for my clients. I create two MX records, Site#1 has priority 10 and Site#2 has 20. This makes Site#2 a backup for purposes of receiving and sending mail for both sites (yes, there's more to the configuration). 99+% of the time, everything goes through Site#1 so the individual settings are maintained only at Site#1. Yes, the UTM Admin will want to copy Exception information from Site#1 to Site#2.
